主要从事植物系统学
、保护生物学、资源植物学等学科及领域的科学研究及教学工作。先后主持国际合作 、国家级
、省部级及地方应用项目100余项 。对于中国西南部尤其是自然保护区建设、管理与评价，生物多样性现状 、珍稀及重点保护物种
、珍贵资源植物保护开发与利用 ，生物安全等方面有深入研究
。先后在《PHYTOTAXA》、《AmericanJournalofPlantSciences》 、《NordicJournalofBotany》
、《SpectrochimicaActa》、《植物学报》 、《生态学报》、《园艺学报》
、《水生生物学报》、《中国中药杂志》等重要核心期刊发表论文140余篇；发现植物新种多个
，如巫溪虾脊兰 、巫溪铁线莲
、白沙凤仙花等；在科学出版社等出版专著及教材10余部，如《重庆缙云山国家级自然保护区植物多样性研究》、《贵州赤水桫椤国家级自然保护区生物多样性》 、《重庆大巴山国家级自然保护区生物多样性》

Introduction
