YaoXinzhong,anativeofZhumadianCity,HenanProvince,wasbornonthe9th,February,1957.HegraduatedfromtheDepartmentofPhilosophyatRenminUniversityofChinain1982withaBAinPhilosophy,andwasawardedwithaPhDinEthicsin1988.SponsoredbyaBritishCouncilScholarship,hewenttoUniversityofKent,Englandforpostdoctoralresearchin1990.HestartedteachingatUniversityofWales,CardiffandLampeterfrom1991whenhewasappointedasresearchfellowinreligiousethics.HewasthenappointedLecturer,SeniorLecturer,Reader,andProfessorinWalesbeforegoingtoUniversityofOxfordasaseniorresearchfellow(IanRamseyCentre).HeacceptedtheappointmentofProfessorofReligionandEthicsandtheDirectorofKing’sChinaInstitute,King’sCollegeLondonin2008.HehasbeenanadjunctprofessorandOhDsupervisoratRenminUniversitysince1999.
