InSeptember,welaunchedtheGlobalSTEMAlliancewiththeNewYorkAcademyofSciences,toconnectthedotsbetweengovernment,theUnitedNations,theprivatesectorandacademia,onanissueatheartofalleffortstobuildasustainablefuture.Weneednewalliancestotakeourvisionforward–acrosstheUnitedNationssystem,withMemberStates,withinandbetweensocieties.Thisiswhy,onthisWorldScienceDayforPeaceandDevelopment,UNESCOislaunchingwithRocheandNatureEducationtheUNESCOWorldLibraryofScience—afreeonlineresourceforsciencelearning,whichcontainshundredsofpeer-reviewedarticles,usingtext,pictures,illustrationsandvideostomakescientificconceptseasytounderstand.

Qualityscienceeducationisapillarforamoresustainablefuture—wemustinvestinit,toempowereverywomanandman,tocatalyzetheinnovationandcreativityweneedforthecenturyahead.ThisisUNESCO’smessagetoday.
